Utah Mighty 5: The Parks, Hikes + Detours We Would Do Again
Five parks, very different experiences. Do all five on a road trip—or use our individual park guides to build the Utah trip that fits your time.

You do not need to do all five. Each park guide stands on its own. Our full road trip links them together, but Zion, Bryce, Arches, Capitol Reef and Canyonlands are all worth planning independently.
Our Utah 5, park by park
Zion National Park
Narrows, Watchman, Canyon Overlook and a family-friendly Angels Landing approach.

Bryce Canyon National Park
Get below the rim, then stay for sunset and stars.

Arches National Park
Delicate Arch is the icon; Devils Garden is our pick for the best hike.

Capitol Reef National Park
Grand Wash, Waterpocket Fold, orchards, pie and petroglyphs.

Canyonlands National Park
Our Island in the Sky guide and honest Mighty 5 ranking.
Break up the hiking
Our kids did not want to hike all day every day. Jeep riding on Hell’s Revenge, an ATV/slot-canyon outing, sandboarding, Moqui Caverns and a Moab rock shop gave the trip a completely different rhythm. See our Utah adventure breaks.
Doing the whole loop?
