If we could repeat only three: Mt. Storm King, Rialto Beach to Hole in the Wall and a Quinault rainforest walk. Together they give you mountain, coast and rainforest.
1. Mt. Storm King
Best overall. Hard climbing, giant forest, an adventurous unofficial-rope section and enormous Lake Crescent views. Read our Storm King guide.
2. Rialto Beach to Hole in the Wall
Best coastal experience. Plan around low tide for driftwood, sea stacks, tide pools and rock exploration. Read our Rialto guide.
3. Quinault rainforest
Best immersive forest experience. We liked the quieter feel and never regretted limiting our longer Hoh time. Compare Hoh and Quinault.
4. Mt. Ellinor
Best less-obvious mountain hike. The upper trailhead still gives you substantial climbing and broad views. Read our Mt. Ellinor guide.
5. Hurricane Hill
Best easy-access mountain payoff. Paved and crowded, but gorgeous at sunset. Read our Hurricane Hill guide.
Also worth doing
Marymere Falls is the short add-on we would prioritize, especially with Storm King. Hall of Mosses is quick and cool. Sol Duc Falls is attractive but easier for us to cut from a compressed itinerary.
