Mahaʻulepu Heritage Trail: Kauaʻi's Easier Coastal Hike
After Kalalau, this was the kind of coastal hike that let us keep exploring without turning every day into an endurance event.

Route we used: Shipwreck Beach on Keoneloa Bay toward Mahaʻulepu/Kawailoa Bay.
This is a very different coastal experience from Nāpali: lower cliffs, open ocean views, coves and a much easier pace. We remember really enjoying the walk even though it was not the trip-defining hike Kalalau was.

Where it fits
We would use this on a south-shore day with Poʻipū rather than giving it the same full-day status as Kalalau or Waimea Canyon. It is exactly the kind of hike that adds variety to an active Kauaʻi itinerary.
