Naturhotel Leitlhof Review: A Great San Candido Base
A larger resort-style stay with a lovely spa, good food and easy access to San Candido and the eastern Dolomites.

A larger resort feel
Leitlhof felt much larger than Alpin Garden. It was not the same boutique experience, but that came with advantages: more facilities, a substantial spa and easy ways to spend time at the hotel.
Breakfast and dining
There was a great buffet plus food you could order at breakfast. We also remember a welcome drink and snacks when we arrived, and the dining room was very nice.

The spa
The spa was lovely, with adult-only and family areas, several saunas and an outdoor hot tub. There were also light snacks available in the spa area.
We booked the Emperor’s Tub treatment. It was nice if you enjoy baths, but it is not something we would rush to book again. The spa itself was the bigger draw for us.
Walk to town—or hike from the hotel
We could walk into San Candido and also set out from the hotel toward Rifugio Baranci. If you do not want the uphill hike, taking the lift is the much easier option.
Great location for exploring
We were able to drive into Austria in just a few minutes. The hotel also had bikes available to borrow, with a beautiful trail nearby. Combined with access to the eastern Dolomites, it worked very well as a base.

Who should stay here?
Choose Leitlhof if you want more of a resort experience with a larger spa and more facilities. We would recommend it; just do not expect the intimate boutique feel of Alpin Garden.
